SCP Virtual Bus Driver is a Windows kernel-mode driver that creates virtual gamepad devices using the XInput standard. Most commonly distributed as part of the ScpToolkit/Scarlet.Crush driver package, it lets Sony DualShock controllers (primarily PS3/PS4) appear to Windows and games as Xbox 360 controllers. By exposing one or more virtual XInput devices and relaying input from USB or Bluetooth-connected controllers, it enables broad, low-latency compatibility with games, emulators, and platforms like Steam that expect Xbox-style gamepads.

Key features:

  • Emulates Xbox 360 (XInput) controllers for maximum game compatibility
  • Supports multiple controllers simultaneously
  • Works over USB and, with the companion service/tools, Bluetooth
  • System-wide operation with minimal per-game setup
  • Lightweight driver that starts with Windows

Notes:

  • Installation requires administrator privileges and a driver package; use trusted sources only.
  • Many users now opt for newer, actively maintained alternatives such as ViGEmBus-based solutions (e.g., DS4Windows) on modern Windows versions.
  • Typically compatible with Windows 7 through Windows 10/11 (64-bit).

SCP Virtual Bus Driver is developed by open source. The most popular version of this product among our users is 1.0.
